OSLOB, Philippines, March 14 (UPI) -- A woman's close encounter with a whale shark in the Philippines turned a little too close for comfort when the sea creature cornered her and nibbled on her legs.

Cassidy Tompkins, who went snorkeling with whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu province, late last year, posted a video to YouTube showing how she was "almost eaten" by one particular whale shark.

The video shows Tompkins swimming with her group and the whale shark when the women gets separated from the other humans and "trapped" between the whale shark and her boat.

Tompkins said the shark nibbled on her legs, but the sensation felt more like sucking due to the design of the whale shark's mouth, which is meant to catch very small fish.
