The Facebook post said Lewa Wildlife Conservancy rescuers were assisted by the Northern Rangelands Trust, Save the Elephants and members of the public.
Rescuers said the elephant was dehydrated when they arrived and drank about 26 gallons of water before volunteers were able to pull him from the well using three cars.
The elephant did not appear to have incurred any serious injuries during its ordeal and was able to walk away from the scene after being rescued, the conservancy said.
