TROY, Ala., March 3 (UPI) -- An Alabama university is helping students stay in shape while studying by installing exercise bikes in the campus library.

Troy University Libraries shared photos of the machines on their Facebook page, showing off three of the new exercise bikes that will allow students to use their laptops while they exercise.

"We are adding exercise bikes at the Dothan and Troy libraries that also have stations for laptop computers," they wrote on Feb. 24.

The university provided updates on the combination exercise/study rooms, the first of which opened at its Dothan campus.

Responses to the first room were largely positive leading the university to expand the idea even further.

A second exercise room at the main campus in Troy is set to open at the beginning of March as the university promised even more exercise equipment in the future.

"Troy campus by the end of next week at the latest," they wrote. "We are also ordering 6 elliptical machines that can go under desks that we will adding to this room. Most likely more bikes will be added as well."
