"It's [the world record] been a bit of a goal from when I was a kid," he said. "I'm always training."
Although not officially registered by Guinness World Records, Sharp's impressive burp edges out the current record of 109.9 decibels set by UK man Paul Hunn in 2009.
Sharp said he learned the skill from his sister and prepares for his burps by drinking various carbonated beverages as well as cold water.
"It would've been 600ml Coke and some cool water," he told ABC News. "And my beer fridge is always full."
His burp registers as louder than a snowmobile or motorcycle and a power saw from one meter away.
