NINGBO, China, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Firefighters in China were called to rescue a cat that stranded itself at the top of a 65-foot-tall tree and shook the feline free.
Video of the rescue in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, shows a firefighter climb partway up the bald tree Friday and attempt to snare the cat with a long pole that had a loop at one end.
The feline repeatedly dodges the prods from the pole, leading the firefighter to switch tactics.
The rescuer then starts shaking the tree while witnesses on the ground prepare to catch the feline in a blanket.
The cat shakes loose, but grabs hold of a lower branch. The cat briefly hangs from the lower branch before falling to an area several feet away from the group holding the blanket.
The feline appears uninjured despite its fall.
