BEIJING, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- People traveling home at the end of China's Spring Festival holiday led to a traffic jam in Beijing stretching six and a half miles with thousands of vehicles.

Aerial footage of the Saturday traffic jam in Beijing shows thousands of cars moving at a slow crawl in a traffic jam stretching back six and a half miles.

A 50-lane toll road near Hong Kong was brought to a standstill in October of last year during the Golden Week holiday.

The longest traffic jam on record in China took place in 2010 and stretched 60 miles from Beijing to the northern province of Inner Mongolia.
