Bald eagle swoops down to grab fish from frozen lake

WHITEFISH, Mont., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- A man ice fishing on a Montana lake captured footage of a bald eagle swooping down to grab a dead fish he left out on the ice.

Nate Parenteau, who posted the video to YouTube, said he was on a lake in Whitefish Feb. 10 when he saw the eagle flying high overhead.

Parenteau said he found a dead fish in an old hole he was fishing next to and planted it out on the ice about 50 feet away from his fishing spot.

The fisherman planted a camera, a GoPro Hero 4, near the fish.

"Sure enough the eagle hopped off of a nearby pine tree and grabbed the fish right off of the lake," Parenteau wrote.
