Rhino uses plastic ball as workout equipment

DES MOINES, Iowa, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- A rhinoceros at a zoo in Iowa made creative use of one of the toys in its pen by repurposing it as a piece of workout equipment.

Blank Park Zoo shared video of the 2,000 pound female African rhino named Ayana attempting to balance on the ball.

"Boomer balls are made of a very hard plastic are a common enrichment item among animals at Blank Park Zoo," they wrote on Facebook. "They all use them in different ways. Today, Ayana is using hers like a pilates ball."

After taking a moment to workout her core Ayana decides to climb off the ball and playfully nudges it with her horn.
