Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe LUDINGTON, Mich., Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Police in Michigan said they arrested a playful couple accused of having a Silly String fight inside a Walmart store and refusing to pay for the items. The Mason County Sheriff's Office said Muskegon residents Samantha Christiansen, 26, and Derek Gomez, 24, held a Silly String fight inside the Walmart store near Ludington and emptied "multiple" cans of the aerosol product in "multiple" aisles. Advertisement "It sounds like they did make quite a mess," Sheriff Kim Cole told Mlive.com. Cole said sheriff's deputies were called when the suspects refused to pay for the cans they emptied. "They opted just to leave rather than pay," he said. Christiansen and Gomez were arrested on charges of third degree retail fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of up to 93 days in jail and a fine of up to $500 or three times the value of the stolen items. Both suspects were later released on bond. "They're certainly old enough to know better," Cole said.
