"I was at the Zoo today and I noticed a large crowd of people," he wrote. "I went over and found an ostrich that had fallen through the ice! Luckily some employees were able to get it out."
A larger crowd watched as staff used large metal rods to break the ice surrounding the stranded ostrich and attempted to guide the bird out of the water.
Employee Jesse Anna eventually jumped into the water to walk alongside the ostrich after several failed attempts to guide it to the bank of the partially frozen creek.
After a slight struggle Anna was eventually able to guide the bird to safety where zoo staff ensured the two were warm and dry.
Neither the ostrich or Anna were hurt during the incident.
