PARK CITY, Utah, Feb. 1 (UPI) -- The parents of a Utah 1-year-old said they modified the smallest available snowboard to allow the 14-month-old baby to get an early start on the sport.

Snowboarding enthusiasts Zach and Katie Henderson of North Salt Lake said they agreed that their daughter, Sloan, would take her first trip out onto the snow as soon as she could walk, and the tot quickly showed an aptitude for bipedal motion at the age of 13 months.

The Hendersons said they bought the smallest available snowboard, but it still wasn't quite tiny enough for the budding boarder.

"Even though it was the smallest snowboard on the market, we still had to make modifications to it so her legs weren't so far apart," Zach Henderson told KUTV.

The parents posted a video to YouTube showing Sloan's first attempt Thursday at Park City Mountain Resort.

"Yes, Sloan. You're cruising, babe," Zach Henderson says in the video. "You're cruising. You're a boarder."

Henderson said Sloan seemed more comfortable at the resort than during test runs in their backyard.

"She was a little scared out in the backyard," Henderson told CNN. "She did better [in Park City] then in the backyard."
