BRUSSELS , Ontario, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Police in Ontario said an 80-year-old man was issued a citation for driving a car covered in several inches with only a small section of windshield cleared.

Ontario Provincial Police, West Region, posted a picture to Twitter showing the car covered in several inches of snow Tuesday in Brussels with only a small section of driver's-side windshield exposed to the open air.

Police tweeted the 80-year-old driver was issued a $77 ticket -- $110 in Canadian money -- for driving with an obstructed view.

"The Sgt. was kind and helped the old fellow to clear the window!" the provincial police said.

When a Twitter user suggested police "throw the book" at the driver, the police account responded: "the driver was charged. We are not allowed to throw books at people."
