HAWTHORNE, N.J., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- No snow? S'no problem for Michael Jannicelli.

A New Jersey man whose town has been largely neglected by snow took winter into his own hands by using a machine to cover his yard in fresh powder.

Michael Jannicelli, 48, of Hawthorne, which marked record high temperatures in December, said he has the only snow-covered yard in town thanks to the snow gun he purchased for his home.

Jannicelli, a landscaper who works at the Campgaw ski area in Mahwah, said the equipment at the ski area inspired him to revisit his childhood dreams of living in a winter wonderland.

"I've loved the snow since I was a child and this has been a dream of mine for many years," Jannicelli told The Gazette newspaper. "With my experience and business, I was able to buy the equipment. I have an obligation to the town now to have snow all winter long."

He said the snow gun runs on water, compressed air and "magic."

"It's awesome being the only house in Hawthorn and Passaic County that has snow," Jannicelli told CBS New York. "I had a lady pull over to the side over there, get out of her car, look both ways, run across the street, touch it."

Jannicelli's son, 11-year-old aspiring meteorologist Michael, might be the snow-covered yard's biggest fan.

"When I walk into school in the morning I at least get five kids: 'how did you get snow on your lawn?'" the boy said.

Jannicelli's yard might not remain unique for long -- a winter storm is expected to hit the area Saturday.
