Crocodile found in Florida Keys swimming pool

ISLAMORADA, Fla., Jan. 21 (UPI) -- A man in the Florida Keys discovered a live crocodile in his backyard pool early on Thursday morning.

Monroe County sheriff's office posted a photo of the crocodile after responding to the call at 7:30 a.m. in Lower Matecumbe Key.

The crocodile can be seen resting near the pool's steps before police and animal care officers returned the reptile to its natural habitat.

"Sheriff's Office and Fish and Wildlife officers worked together and the crocodile was safely removed and returned to the ocean," Monroe County sheriff's spokesperson Becky Herrin told the Miami Herald.

A homeowner at the 77 mile marker on Lower Matecumbe Key was surprised this morning at 7:30 a.m. to find this crocodile...
