COCOA BEACH, Fla., Jan. 19 (UPI) -- The severe storms that ripped through Central Florida left behind a curious piece of wreckage: the aftermath of an apparent "Sharknado."

The Beach Wave surf shop in Cocoa Beach is well known for its iconic sign, which features a shark holding a surf board with a bite taken out of it.

The strong winds early Sunday toppled the sign, making it appear that it had been taken out by a shark crashing from the sky.

The scene evoked comparisons to the Sharknado series of tongue-in-cheek disaster films.
