Seal sneaks onto San Diego patio

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- A seal in San Diego wandered out of the ocean and found itself on a patio of an oceanside home.

Butch Batten posted video of the seal to local news station Fox 5 San Diego's Facebook page documenting the visit from the sea-faring mammal.

Batten also captured footage of waves crashing against the nearby road reaching all the way to the patio as a result of high tides.

The San Diego area is experiencing flooding and high tides as a result of increased storm activity caused by El Niño.
