LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- A Kickstarter campaign to produce a hooded sweatshirt featuring an inflatable pillow in the hood has been funded nearly quadrupling its intended goal of $30,000.
The premier product for Los Angeles-based brand Hypnos, the patent pending "sleep hoodie" is set to release in five styles and three colors after raising more than $100,000 on Kickstarter since launching in November.
"Hypnos was originally created for and remains devoted to the traveler, jet set, nomadic families and anyone who loves comfort on the go," Hypnos' website states.
The Hypnos hoodie features a removable air bag that is inflated through use of a valve protruding from the hood. The air bag is designed to support the weight of the human head, while also providing quick deflation when the valve is released.
"The neck line of each hoodie is open and the size of the hood is large enough so no matter what the situation you may find yourself in, the hood can be maneuvered for optimal comfort," the hoodie's Kickstarter page states.
Hypnos expects the hoodies to be delivered in March and cost between $59 and $139 at retail, with Kickstarter backers able to purchase them at a lower price.
