STATHAM , Ga., Dec. 15 (UPI) -- A Santa Claus at a Georgia mall helped fulfill a father's wish by posing with a photo of his infant son who died of a heart defect.
Caleb Ryan Sigmon, who plays Santa Claus in Statham, Ga., posted the photo to Facebook telling the story of Kyle Daniel and his special request.
"Without anyone saying anything, he handed me the frame and I placed it on my knee," he wrote. In the photo, I could see on the little boy's armband that his first name was Hayden. I didn't ask any questions, but I am guessing this is his first photo with Santa."
Daniel sought to give the photo to his wife as a gift in memory of their son, who died before his first Christmas.
"On December 19, 2014, Hayden passed away in my arms. His lungs had become weak and just stopped working. He was just a few days away from being six months old," Daniel told Today.
Touched by Daniel's story, Sigmon gave him the photos for free and offered prayers to him and his wife.
"He grabbed my hand and pulled me in and hugged me, then turned around and left," Sigmon wrote. "As he walked out, we all had tears in their eyes."
