Sign outside vacant home: 'Trump sold me this house'

ROCK HILL, S.C., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A dilapidated vacant house in South Carolina has become a canvas for a political message: "Trump sold me this house. What's he selling you?"

Neighbors of the Rock Hill home said it has often been targeted by vandals and garbage dumpers, and the latest message to be emblazoned on the property was spray-painted on a sign out front.

"Trump sold me this house. What's he selling you?" the sign reads, referencing controversial businessman-turned-politician Donald Trump.

The Republican presidential hopeful might be popular with South Carolina voters -- the latest Winthrop poll suggests 24 percent of the state's Republican voters plan to cast their ballots for him in the upcoming primary -- but he isn't so popular with the property's owner, whose son installed the sign.

The owner, who plans to eventually have the house demolished, said he allowed his son to install the sign and he will allow him to replace it after it was stolen Thursday night.

The property owner told WCNC-TV the sign is meant to be taken as a political message, but it isn't factually accurate -- to the owner's knowledge, the house has never been owned by Donald Trump.
