HEFEI, China, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Firefighters in China worked for more than three hours to rescue a dog that had its head trapped in a small hole in a brick wall.

Video of the incident Sunday in Anhui Province shows firefighters comforting the canine by petting its head before beginning the extraction process.

The firefighters drilled through the wall to increase the size of the hole until the dog was free.

Authorities said the dog was not injured and does not appear to be a stray.
