BìNH GIANG, Vietnam, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- Wildlife rescuers in Vietnam captured footage of a mother and baby pangolin being released into the wild alongside 22 others of their species.

The Save Vietnam's Wildlife group said 23 of the pangolins were rescued from traffickers who kept the animals in nylon bags without food or water for unknown among of time.

SVW said the last pangolin was born at the group's facility after his pregnant mother was rescued. Video posted online shows the mother and baby being released into the wild.

Pangolins are considered critically endangered and are prized by traffickers for their meat and scales, which are traditionally believed to have healing properties.
