FREMANTLE, Australia, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- A man using a baited camera to film fish in Australia recorded the surprise attack of a moray eel.

The video, uploaded to YouTube by Stargazer Pictures, shows fish investigating a baited camera lowered into Fremantle Harbor in Western Australia.

The fish are swimming close to the camera and nibbling at the bait when a moray eel appears in the shadows and surveys the scene.

The eel makes a "lightning fast" lunge in an attempt to catch itself a meal, but the fish are too fast and made a speedy getaway.

"I dropped another baited camera below Fremantle wharf, captured this Moray Eel attempting to ambush a group of fish feeding on the bait, lighting fast creature!" the uploader wrote.
