WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Uber is expanding its services from ride sharing and kitten delivery for one day to chauffeur nurses around several U.S. cities to deliver flu shots.

The service, which is being offered Thursday in locations including New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Los Angeles and San Francisco, costs $10 to have an Uber driver bring a nurse to a location to give up to 10 flu shots.

Uber, which also delivers kittens once a year for National Cat Day, said 2,000 people took advantage of the flu shot service last year, when it was offered only in Boston, New York, Washington and Chicago.

The company said Uber app users will be able to order the service by selecting "UberHEALTH" between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

"If you don't get one the first time, you'll get a message that basically says all cars are busy and to please try again," Uber spokeswoman Sarah Maxwell told The Washington Post.
