Police find man roller skating on highway shoulder

ZHANGZHOU , China, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Chinese police made an unusual traffic stop when they discovered a man roller skating on the shoulder of a highway after dark in Fujian Province.

Police said a patrol discovered the man roller skating in the emergency shoulder lane of a stretch of highway in Zhangzhou about 8 p.m. Nov. 11.

The 23-year-old man man told police he had been lured from his home in Hubei Province by a job scam and was left with only about $3 to try to get home.

Police said they advised the man not to roller skate on highways and officers helped him cover his travel expenses back home.
