WASHINGTON, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- The Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington shared video of giant panda cub Bei Bei taking his first steps under the watchful eye of his mother.

"Now that he's got all four paws under him, Bei Bei will begin to wander around and leave the den on his own to explore the indoor enclosure," the zoo wrote in the video's description.

Bei Bei was born at the zoo Aug. 22 alongside a twin sibling, which died only a few days after birth.
