NEW YORK, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Apps like Uber and Tinder have allowed people to harness the power of their smartphones for transportation and finding dates. A new app, pending approval, looks to follow in these footsteps by reaching the untapped market of people looking to fight strangers.

Rumblr is an app designed to allow users to use GPS to find and message strangers in their area in order to set up fights. It was set to launch Monday.

The official Rumblr website features the slogan "Meet. Fight. Conquer." and describes the app as. "Tinder for fighting."

The team behind the app told The New York Daily News, "We have raised relatively substantial funding from private American investors and the app is fully developed." .

The website describes several features, including chat functionality, the ability to filter searches by fight type, as well as a detailed list of statistics for each fighter.

While the primary purpose of the app is to set up fights, a statement on the website encourages users to watch fights, as well: "You don't need to fight to use Rumblr. With Rumblr Explore, anyone can browse and attend fights close by that other Rumblr users have arranged."

The app is set to launch online before coming to phones, as the team told the Daily News that its discussions with Apple's iOS store have been held up by legal issues.

The creators discussed the possibility of fighters being hurt or even killed after using the app, telling Fight State that they will employ a hands-off approach after the fights are arranged.
