WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- YouTube star Tillman the English bulldog, known for his various skateboarding and surfing videos, has died. He was 10 years old.

The sport-loving pet's death was announced by his owner, Ron Davis, via Tillman's official Facebook page Thursday. Over 100,000 fans have responded with messages of sadness and condolences.

"I'm sorry to announce the world lost a true legend," the Facebook post read. "My best bud Tillman passed away last night, of natural causes. We spent 10 years making so many incredible memories skating, surfing and hanging out together. No words can truly describe how much he'll be missed. Thanks for all the good times, Tilly."

In 2007, Tillman the dog rose to fame as a puppy when a video showing him enjoying an independent ride on a skateboard went viral. As of this week, the original video gained almost 22 million total views.

Tillman broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 meter skateboard ride by a dog in 2007, making the trip in just under 20 seconds.

After skateboarding, Tillman took up surfing and snowboarding, proving the pooch could shred on any surface.
