Orca 'punts' harbor seal 80 feet into the air off British Columbia

VICTORIA, British Columbia, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- A videographer taking footage of orca whales off the coast of British Columbia recorded one of the killer whales launching a harbor seal 80 feet into the air.

The video, posted to YouTube by Roll.Focus. Productions, shows a group of transient orcas dubbed the T69s swimming near Victoria, British Columbia.

The camera captures the moment the pod's lone male orca, T69C, "punts" a harbor seal an estimated 80 feet into the air with his tail.

The onlookers can be heard gasping in astonishment at the feat of predatory aquatic athleticism.
