'Drunk' pigeon incapacitated by fermented fruit

WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- An aspiring nature narrator captured video of an pigeon immobilized on the ground after apparently getting "drunk" from fermented fruit.

The video, posted to YouTube, features commentary from "richharding" as the camera pans from some partially-eaten fermented fruit in a park to a pigeon laying on the ground in an apparent state of intoxication.

"Come on now sonny, wake up," the narrator says, while a hand shakes the bird.

The pigeon moves slightly, but appears incapacitated by its inebriation.
