WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- A new social media trend involves parents dressing infants as Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders and posting photos labeled "#BabiesForBernie."

The trend, which began on Instagram about eight weeks ago, features several budding Bernie impersonators donning wigs imitating Sanders' infamously tussled hair and glasses to show their support -- or rather, their parents' support -- for the Vermont senator's presidential bid.

Ashira Fox, whose #BabiesForBernie picture went viral on Instagram, started a Facebook group for parents to share their baby Bernie pictures. The group has grown to more than 200 members.

"Feel free to join the FB group if you think your baby is better off w Bernie for president," she wrote in an Instagram post.
