WAIANAE, Hawaii, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A Hawaii woman taking a "dolphin swim" off the coast of Oahu captured footage of a playful humpback whale swimming with a pod of dolphins.
Erin Lundy posted a video to YouTube showing the humpback keeping pace with a playful pod of dolphins swarming around the ocean giant's face.
She said in a Reddit post it appeared the humpback was "going pretty fast" while "trying to keep up with the dolphins."
"Off the Waianae coast this morning, we got in the water to do a dolphin swim and immediately a humpback swam close to us following the dolphins, seeming to chase them playfully," Lundy wrote in the video's YouTube description. "This was an amazing experience and a close encounter to some really beautiful creatures."
