"I picked it up and thought, 'Oh my gosh! He looks just like a little duck!'" Davidek told CBS Detroit.
Davidek said she knew she had to show the unusual tomato to her husband, Bob.
"I said, 'no, no... you didn't find a duck' and she showed me that. And it was a chicken or a duck," Bob Davidek told WWMT-TV.
Marie Davidek said she hasn't decided whether the duck tomato will become a quack-shaped snack.
"I don't know whether I would ever... but he's getting riper so the day is coming when I know I won't have my duck tomato anymore," she said.
Davidek said she hopes the tomato's fame will inspire other budding gardeners.
"This is really something that I think a lot of people should see," she told WNEM-TV. "Maybe somebody else will starting doing a garden."
