Ohio man discovers giant nest of hornets outside his window

AKRON, Ohio, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- An Ohio man who "awoke to a tap tap tap" on his window looked outside to investigate and discovered an enormous nest of bald faced hornets.

The Akron resident, who posted his video to YouTube under the username downbelowu1928, said in a Reddit post he hasn't been been home much this summer and he recently "awoke to a tap tap tap" on a window.

The man, Longkniferevolution on Reddit, originally identified his new neighbor as a "yellow jacket nest," but Redditors said the nest appears to be swarming with bald faced hornets.

The man said he will likely let the coming cold weather take care of the infestation for him.

"After the freeze kills them I might cut the nest in half to check it out. This is the biggest nest I have ever seen in person, unfortunately it's attached to my awning!" he wrote.
