BRIER ISLAND, Nova Scotia, Aug. 25 (UPI) -- A humpback whale's back-flipping breach was caught on camera by a passenger on a Nova Scotia whale watching boat.

Penny Graham, who runs the Brier Island-based Mariner Cruises Whale and Seabird Tours, captured a photo Friday of the whale in mid-backflip with a frame of spray and fog.

"It's a moment I'll never forget," Graham told CBC News. "I started whale watching in 1984 with my husband Roy when he was alive and never before have I captured a whale in that position."

The showboating whale's performance was caught on video by passenger Sandy Seliga of Toronto. The footage was shared on YouTube by the Conservation Council of New Brunswick.

Graham said the whale breached about 30 times to put on a show for the boat.

"Now, what a show that whale was putting on. It was just non stop," she said. "I'm not a scientist, but I honestly believe that whale was having just as good of a time as we were."
