WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- Popular dating app Tinder gets the satirical, 8-bit treatment with a new mini game called Millennial Swipe Sim 2015.

Created by Buzzfeed creative director and game developer Will Herring, the game's focus is to not die of boredom from taking too long to swipe (in any direction). Millennial Swipe can be played on a smartphone or on the computer, but playing the dating app game via handheld helps lock in the most points.

"Dating apps are these weird, kind of frantic information dumps of personalities and profiles flying at you from every direction," Herring told Motherboard. "I think that can be overwhelming to everyone -- and I think that makes them very easy to joke about."

"It's this weird mix of, 'oh, we're not taking this seriously,' but also this has very quickly become the standard for how we meet and start relationships. It's something I'm still trying to wrap my head around."

In response to the apparent dating confusion apps like Tinder or Hinge induce, Herring created the 8-bit game to make people laugh -- but it's surprisingly as addictive as the real-life dating games themselves.
