BRIDGETON, N.J., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- A New Jersey woman said she "couldn't believe it" when she saw her restaurant receipt said her wings were "fried hard like a black [expletive]."
Loretta Smith Layne of Bridgeton shared a picture on Facebook of a receipt she says came with her order from Danny's Pizza Pizzazz in Bridgeton.
The receipt, dated July 25, shows the "special instructions" include having Layne's order of wings "fried hard like a black [expletive]," a profane reference to the male sex organ.
Layne, who said she ordered her wings "fried hard," said she confronted the manager of the restaurant, owner Danny Sommeling's son, and received only a half-hearted apology.
"I just had to shake my head because I couldn't believe it," Layne told WCAU-TV. "I was very offended and upset and disrespected to get those words on a receipt."
Sommeling and his son denied the receipt came from their establishment when questioned by WCAU-TV, but text messages sent to Layne's phone from Sommeling's number show he apologized to her for his son's "definitely not professional" choice of words.
"He needs to realize what he's done," Layne said. "It's not acceptable. Not to me. And I wouldn't want anyone to go through what I went through."
