Australian dad builds baby a 'Return of the Jedi' 'rocking speeder bike'

CANBERRA, Australia, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- An Australian dad combined his love of Star Wars with his love for his 1-year-old daughter by building a rocking horse shaped like a 74-Z Speeder Bike.

Tez Gelmir, who posted a YouTube video of the toy in action, said he built the "rocking speeder bike," based on the 74-Z Speeder Bike from Return of the Jedi, as a birthday present for his 1-year-old daughter.

Gelmir's daughter appears in the video dressed as Princess Leia, complete with a hat emulating the Carrie Fisher character's signature cinnamon bun-style hair.

Gelmir shared detailed instructions on how he constructed the rocking speeder on website Instructables.

"I have built my son lots of projects but with my daughter's first birthday coming up I felt it was her turn to get some project love and what better way than with her own Speeder Bike?!" he wrote on the website.
