PORTLAND, Ore., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- An Apple product vlogger replaced a 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera's brake pads with iPhones to determine whether the devices were strong enough to stop the car.

EverythingApplePro vlogger Daniel said in the YouTube video he replaced some of the hardware in the Carrera with the larger versions from a 911 Turbo to accommodate the size of the phones.

The front brakes were replaced with a quartet of iPhone 5S handsets, while the rear brakes were replaced with four iPhone 4S devices.

Daniel then tested the stopping power of the iBrakes at 20 mph, 40 mph and 60 mph. The 20 mph stop was "spongy" and caused some grinding, while the 40 mph stop caused a front tire to catch fire.

The 60 mph stop required the use of the emergency brake, which Daniel had left unaltered.

The vlogger then removed the iPhones from the car to assess the damage and was surprised to discover one of the iPhone 4S units still "works." The device was damaged beyond its ability to function normally, but Daniel was able to turn it on and identify the battery logo on a surviving portion of screen.

"The 4S truly was a tank," Daniel said.

A previous experiment by EverythingApplePro determined it took six iPhones to stop an AK-74 bullet.
