CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A Texas police department shared a YouTube video chronicling the saga of a stray pig dubbed "Hamsome Pig" by officers.

The Corpus Christi Police Department, which shared the video on its official YouTube channel, said the story of Hamsome Pig began Saturday with a 911 call from a perplexed resident.

"I know it's going to sound crazy, but we found a pig under a car," the 911 caller says in the video. "It's a little pig running around the neighborhood."

Officers responded to the "loose livestock" call and a brief foot chase ensued that ended with the puny porker being wrapped in a blanket and placed in the back of a patrol car.

The YouTube post includes video footage of the small pig settling into the back of the car.

"He tried to go 'Wee, wee, wee all the way home,'" an officer jokes in the video.

Police said the pig was turned over to Animal Care Services until his owner can be identified.

"I do not recall any pig on the loose in my 26 years [at] the police department," police spokesman Marc Harrod told the Corpus Christi Caller Times.
