CUPERTINO, Calif., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A video recorded by a guest at a California hotel shows his interaction with the accommodation's most unusual employee: a "robot butler."

Dale Houghton Jr., who shared the video on YouTube, said he ordered room service while staying at an Aloft Hotel in Cupertino and was intrigued by the "robot butler" that delivered his snack.

The video shows the robot -- officially dubbed Botlr by the hotel -- beeping at Houghton's door and opening its top compartment to reveal the items ordered by the guest.

A read-out on Botlr's screen says, "Hello, here is your delivery. Please remove your items."

Botlr then asks Houghton to rate his stay using stars on the robot's touchscreen before the message changes to, "Ok! I'm heading home! Bye!" and Botlr rolls away.
