Lay's debuts four finalists for 'Do Us a Flavor' competition

PLANO, Texas, July 15 (UPI) -- The time has come for Lay's to debut the four flavor finalists for the "Do Us a Flavor" competition, and the results are in.

The chip company has been holding a yearly competition since 2012 where chip lovers can offer flavor ideas in order to be considered in the nation's crowdsourced competition. The winner of the "Do Us a Flavor" challenge will win $1 million and their chip flavor will be distributed worldwide.

Previous winning flavors have been, Cappuccino, Wavy Mango Salsa and Bacon Mac & Cheese. This year the four flavors up for the winning title include, "Southern Biscuits and Gravy," "Kettle Cooked Greektown Gyro," "New York Reuben" and "Wavy West Coast Truffle Fries."

Lay's announced the flavors on Wednesday and on Tuesday, Nick Lachey traveled around the U.S. to share the news with the finalist.

The four flavors will be available in stores later this month and starting July 27, people can start voting on their favorite flavor.
