MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif., July 10 (UPI) -- A California surfer armed only with a GoPro camera spotted a great white shark beneath him in the water and decided to follow the deadly predator.

Michael Davids, who posted his video to YouTube, was surfing Sunday in Manhattan Beach when he caught sight of a great white shark near him in the water.

Davids, who estimated in a Facebook post that the shark was about 7 feet long, followed the apparently disinterested shark for a few seconds and took underwater video of the predator with his GoPro.

The video ends with the shark swimming off into the distance and Davids giving an excited shout into the camera.
