LYSEKIL, Sweden, July 7 (UPI) -- A pair of Swedish brothers created a video showing how a well-sealed bottle of water can be used to make a microwave oven explode.
Alexander and Benjamin Jonsson, who made headlines earlier this year when they launched a doughnut into "space," shared a video on their Stratolys YouTube channel showing how they filled a glass bottle with water and sealed it tightly using a cork, a cap and strong glue before putting it in the microwave.
The brothers, who wisely set up their experiment outdoors, taped the microwave door shut to keep it from opening during the attempt and ran for cover after starting the oven.
The microwave exploded after heating the bottle of water for about 16 minutes.
"We decided to blow a microwave with a water bottle since we were bored. We do not recommend that you try this at home," the brothers wrote in the video's description.
