Walter Thomas, 91, of Woodstock, was able to crash a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo procured by his grandson, Andrew Thomas, through the one-car garage belonging to Nick and Jamielynn Wedoff, friends of his other grandson, Brian Thomas. "[My grandfather] told me a long time ago that he always wanted to back a car through the garage door," granddaughter Becky Goers told the Woodstock Independent. "He always wondered if the garage door would pop off, or if the frame would come down with it." The result of the experiment, which was filmed and posted online, was a shattered door. "That was crazy," Walter Thomas after his short drive. "We really took the door down." He thanked his three grandchildren for the opportunity. "I appreciate the kids getting together. It's kind of nice of them to think of old grandpa," he said.
