SURREY, British Columbia, May 21 (UPI) -- A British Columbia man shared video of his pit bulls showing off an unexpected skill -- fishing for massive salmon with their mouths.

Ken Wiesner said a friend took his pit bulls, Kaylie and Ellah, for a walk to a river and filmed the two dogs frolicking through the water and catching large salmon with their mouths.

Wiesner said the salmon were all released back into the water after being caught by the dogs and he would not have allowed them to harass the fish if he had been present.

The dog owner said he shared the video in part to warn other pet owners to keep an eye on their dogs and not to let them hunt for salmon, as he does not believe it to be "good for the fish."

The video was originally posted in 2014, but only went viral this month.
