LOS ANGELES, May 5 (UPI) -- A team of Lego builders spent 16 hours constructing a Lego Super Star Destroyer kit and mere seconds smashing it to bits for a slow-motion video.

The apparent rebel sympathizers with Wired's Battle Damage crew assembled the $800 Star Wars kit from 3,152 pieces and used a slow-motion camera to record the nearly 8-pound Star Destroyer falling to the ground and shattering.

The same kit was the subject of an "explosion" video in March, but the CODi8 team behind that video used CGI rather than actually detonating the 4-foot-long model. The video shows off the intricacy of the model by having the individual pieces scatter in the "explosion" and reform from the pile of CGI pieces.
