Xiaozhang Geng, an official with the firm, said the building was erected in two halves -- the first in 2014 and the second in the first two months of this year. He said the project had originally aimed for 97 floors, but was reduced to 57 due to its proximity to an airport. He said builders spent a total 19 days erecting the skyscraper. The firm is now aiming to build a 220-story building called Sky City and is awaiting approval from the government.
