Loggins, who performed hit song "Danger Zone" for the soundtrack to 1986 Tom Cruise film Top Gun, was on the shore Wednesday in Solana Beach when the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter made an emergency landing due to a low oil-pressure indicator light coming on in the cockpit.
"Lo and behold, I walk down there and I say, 'You're in the danger zone!'" Loggins said in a video he posted to social media. "We literally are."
Loggins also tweeted a picture of himself with the helicopter with the caption, "Walked right into the #DANGERZONE."
The Marine Corps said there were no injuries from the incident and the helicopter was flown to the Del Mar fairgrounds for inspection.
