Helicopter's emergency landing puts Kenny Loggins 'in the Danger Zone'

The CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter made an emergency landing in Solana Beach due to a low oil-pressure indicator light.

SOLANA BEACH, Calif., April 16 (UPI) -- Singer Kenny Loggins made his return to the "Danger Zone" when he witnessed a Marine Corps helicopter make an emergency landing on a California beach.

Loggins, who performed hit song "Danger Zone" for the soundtrack to 1986 Tom Cruise film Top Gun, was on the shore Wednesday in Solana Beach when the CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter made an emergency landing due to a low oil-pressure indicator light coming on in the cockpit.

Walked right into the Danger Zone

Taking a walk... right into the #DangerZone! Marine helicopter had to make an emergency landing at Solana Beach.

"Lo and behold, I walk down there and I say, 'You're in the danger zone!'" Loggins said in a video he posted to social media. "We literally are."

Loggins also tweeted a picture of himself with the helicopter with the caption, "Walked right into the #DANGERZONE."

The Marine Corps said there were no injuries from the incident and the helicopter was flown to the Del Mar fairgrounds for inspection.
