ST. JEROME, Quebec, April 8 (UPI) -- A Quebec family who followed a motorist they said cut them off in traffic captured video of the motorist threatening them with a chainsaw.

Alexandre Hermenier and Karine Cyr said they were driving with their two young children Sunday in St. Jerome when they were cut off by another motorist. Hermenier decided to follow the vehicle and block it from leaving the scene while Cyr called police.

The couple said the other motorist got out of his vehicle with a chainsaw that he revved and tapped on their car window while shouting profanities at them.

The children can be heard shouting and crying in the back seat of the car in a video of the confrontation Cyr recorded with her cellphone and posted to Facebook.

Manuel Delisle, 37, was arrested Monday and pleaded not guilty Tuesday to a charge of armed assault. He was given a conditional release and ordered to steer clear of the family and avoid any contact with them.

Delisle is due back in court July 7.
